Since beginning my career in the rental industry in 1982, I have worked in all phases of rental operation. I’ve installed tents on the deck of a ship, on the rooftop of an apartment building overlooking Georgetown, and on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. After moving to central Virginia in 1989, I’ve handled special events ranging from backyard weddings, family reunions and corporate parties to large street festivals, wine festivals and university graduations.

The mid to late 1990’s brought many changes to the rental industry through mergers and acquisitions. Unfortunately, most were unable to maintain the same level of quality and service to the customer. I was taught, and taught others, that quality service along with a quality product is the first step in pleasing the customer and thereby building a successful business in the special event industry. Because I felt I could no longer do either in the new corporate world, I resigned my management position at a major rental operation.

In the summer of 1999, I started my own business, Hunt Country Rental Ltd. We have more than quadrupled our inventory since our beginning, and are known for our clean, high quality equipment, safe installations, and quality of service that we are proud of and our customers appreciate.
